The official grand opening of McBee’s Irish Pub, located in uptown Beckley, was held Saturday.
As part of the celebration, a dozen bagpipers with the Kanawha Valley Pipe & Drum joined the new trolley in a mini-parade down Neville Street. Stained-glass inserts in heavy wooden doors, custom shamrock-bedecked transoms, top-of-the-line sound and light systems as well as gourmet and pub food are just some of the features of the new Irish pub.
McBee’s also houses a large custom dance studio, one that will cater to shag and ballroom styles of dance.
McBee’s can accommodate a potential 300 occupants. It also includes a charmingly accessorized outdoor patio, reminiscent of a big city bistro.
