Ferguson’s Irish Pub ready to reopen

Ferguson’s Irish Pub in downtown Honolulu will reopen on Friday, May 11, after an extensive renovation to its space in the historic Dillingham Transportation Building.

The owners of Ferguson’s Irish Pub plan to reopen the downtown Honolulu watering hole Friday afternoon after an extensive renovation of the space in the historic Dillingham Transportation Building.

Owners Don Murphy of Murphy’s Bar & Grill and J.J. Niebuhr and Danny Dolan of J.J. Dolan’s, who bought the pub last fall after founder John Ferguson died, had originally planned on reopening Ferguson’s by St. Patrick’s Day, the remodeling was took longer than originally planned. Contractors on the project included Oregon Home Construction, Greenleaf Woodworks and Kieselbach Woodworks.

Workers this week put the finishing touches on the pub, which Murphy said will reopen at 4 p.m. on Friday, just in time for pau hana, or happy hour.
