McGirk’s Irish Pub donated 30% of its profits Sunday afternoon in support of local veterans.
“This touches everybody..not just us,” said Tim Ward, the bar’s co-owner. “And we just feel honored to be able to host it at our place.”
McGirk’s is holding raffles at their bar in the Town of Chenango.
Half of that will go to support local veterans in Broome County.
The other half will be donated to the Wounded Warriors national veterans program.
“Anything anybody can do to help the veterans,” said Thomas Ericherron who served in Iraq. “The soldiers, the marines, any servicemen to help them out for their sacrifice is awesome.”
Wounded Warriors supports veteran amputees with a desire to stay active.
They will play a softball game in NYSEG stadium on May 26, 2012.
