A photograph of President John Kennedy and brother Robert taken from Kells Irish Pub over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend has been returned.
Employees of the Irish-themed pub and restaurant noticed the photo missing on Sunday. On Tuesday, owner Lucille McAleese offered a $1,000 reward for its safe return.
Earlier today, a man walked into the pub carrying the photograph, saying a friend had taken it. He did not ask for the reward.
“He brought it back in a black garbage bag,” McAleese said by phone Wednesday. “It’s just a big part of Kells, and I’m glad it’s back.”
The photograph, taken in the 1960s, has hung on the Irish pub’s wall for more than 20 years.
