Music, food and green beer were abundant over the weekend at European Village, which was decked out for St. Patrick’s Day.

The celebration actually began Friday night with the band Rathkeltair playing its brand of Celtic/contemporary rock in the courtyard. Saturday afternoon featured a more traditional Celtic group, Ancient City Pipes and Drums.

The weekend also marked the grand opening of the new location of Farley’s Irish Pub, which was formerly in the Palm Harbor shopping center.

Hundreds donned in St. Patrick’s Day green lined the sidewalks to enjoy the music and partake of a variety of foods and beverages.

The village complex will keep the music this week with a “Friday Night Live” event featuring the band Black Hawk Station.
