Westy’s Irish Pub has been bringing great entertainment, food and a special Irish vibe to North Wildwood since they opened in 1996. And to this day they offer year-round fun and games for locals and tourists alike.
“Westy’s is a great place to meet friends for drinks or bring the family for dinner,” says Peg West, co-owner of Westy’s. “It’s an all-over great atmosphere with a friendly staff.”
West is excited about the summer, as they are bringing in some of the area’s local favorite acts such as The Nerds, Crystal Roxx, Party Dolls, Sindi Raymond and Shorty Long – just to name a few.
“We are also proud to have our very own DJ Smiling Jerry Smith and DJ Matt Kelly for our upcoming parties and events.”
And speaking of parties, no Irish pub can pass up an opportunity to celebrate ol’ Saint Patrick.
“This St. Patty’s Day, we are offering an ‘Irish Favorites’ menu, in addition to our regular menu,” West says. “We’ll have all the traditional fare like corn beef and cabbage, Irish stew, leg of lamb and our famous potato leek soup. Murphy’s Law is performing from noon to 3 p.m., followed by The Zone at 10 p.m. DJ Smiling Jerry Smith will be playing tunes all night, as well.”
Thursdays: Stellar Mojo, 9 p.m.
Fridays and Saturdays: Live music, 9 p.m.
More: Westy’s has a pool table, shuffleboard, two dartboards, and is home to World Tavern Poker on Wednesdays.
“Our food menu ranges from burgers to stuffed lobsters,” West says. “Some of our favorites include Westy’s cheese-fried beef or pork, our homemade Shepherd’s pie, chicken pot pie, as well as our broiled seafood combos.”
What’s Coming Up:
“Come summer, we will offer ‘Name That Tune’ with DJ Matt Kelly on Wednesday nights, as well as Margarita Nights on Thursdays,” West says. “All of that starts June 28, and we also expanded our outdoor deck so we can host entertainment out there when the weather warms up. … The ocean views are breathtaking.”
St. Patty’s Party:
Murphy’s Law, noon to 3 p.m., The Zone, 10 p.m. to close, DJ Smiling Jerry Smith plays upstairs, specialty Irish menu offered all day.
What’s In A Name?:
A whole lot if you are Arthur West: the current owner of Westy’s previously owned West Tavern in Philadelphia. Everyone always called him “Westy,” so the name stuck when he opened up the North Wildwood establishment.
“Our signature drink is our Celtic Lemonade,” West says. “It is made with Irish vodka, Irish liqueur and our homemade lemonade. We also offer more than 10 draft beers on tap – both domestic and Irish – and our Irish Bloody Mary is a must-try!”
