TP Hoolihan’s, Marker 34 Restaurant and our local VFW will be some of the area hot spots for St. Patrick’s Day.
TP Hoolihan’s is an authentic Guinness Pub, of which there are only about 300 in the country, said Marinatown Property Manager Joe Ball. “One of our owners went to Guinness Pub School in Ireland, to learn the authentic way to set up an Irish Pub.”
The recently re-opened bar is part of the Marinatown complex on Hancock Bridge Parkway. There will be a full block party there on St. Patrick’s Day beginning at noon, lasting until 8 p.m.
There will be Irish entertainment all day long, traditional Irish Food and even a Guinness Truck parked outside.
They open from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the block party from noon to 8 p.m. “This will be our biggest day of the year, and you can be part of the festivities,” he said.
Entertainment will include The Boys of County Lee, an authentic Irish band, and Wildfire, a popular local band that will be playing Irish music. Many other local musicians who have put together special entertainment, from their Irish Heritage.
There will be food and drink specials all day, inside and out, Ball said.
At Marker 34 Restaurant, there will also be Irish fun.
“We have Guinness and all kinds of Irish dinner specials,” said Trish Stanton, bar manager. “We also have Irish Soda Bread – it’s delicious.”
JoAnne Deldone has been the owner of Marker 34 for the last two years, and they will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the restaurant during their St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
At VFW Post 10127, an $11 traditional Irish dinner with entertainment will also be a community highlight. Their St. Pat’s festivities are open to public. The Post 10127 is at 996 Pondella Road. For reservations and information call 995-0230.
