The Dubliner Irish pub opens in Power & Light District

Another Irish pub — this one locally owned — has taken over the former Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant space in Kansas City’s Power & Light District.

The Dubliner opened this week at 170 E. 14th St., directly across from the Sprint Center, and just in time for March Madness and St. Patrick’s Day. KC Hopps Ltd., which owns or manages several area restaurant-bar concepts, including 75th Street Brewery, Blue Moose Bar & Grill, and O’Dowd’s Little Dublin, is managing the operation.

“We were looking to be a part of Power & Light and I think a lot of people want more local ownership down there,” said Chris Sutton, president and chief executive officer of KC Hopps.

Dubliner’s menu includes such Irish pub fare as corned beef and cabbage, shepherd’s pie, Dublin-style fish and chips, bangers and mash, and Irish stew. It also features seven different lunch items for $7, including a ½ pound burger and fries or spicy chicken salad, and daily drink specials.

The 10,000-square-foot space has three dining areas and two bar areas, along with two outdoor patios.
