The Inland region is getting a new Irish pub just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. It will open on St. Patrick’s Day, in fact.
Dillon’s Restaurant & Irish Pub, established in Hollywood in 2009, is heading Inland with a second location in Chino Hills.
Dillon’s is set to open the new 8,000-square-foot location in The Shoppes at Chino Hills at 9 a.m. March 17 with a day of festivities that will continue until 2 a.m.
The grand opening celebration will start off with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. and will continue with bagpipers and leprechauns, green beer, a bangers-eating contest, a Svedka photo booth and guest deejays. The event will help raise money for Together We Rise, a Chino-based advocacy group for foster children.
Prizes will be raffled off, including LA Galaxy tickets, a Fender electric guitar, dinner and a show at the Pantages Theater, and a day at the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. Visitors also can register to win a trip for two to Ireland.
The new restaurant, at 13920 City Center Drive, will employ 85 or so people, according to a spokeswoman for The Shoppes.
The Chino Hills location will be a more family-friendly version of its Hollywood & Vine predecessor, expanding service to breakfast, lunch and dinner from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. It will offer patio seating and some menu additions, including a 28-ounce bone-in prime ribeye known as the Irish Hatchet.
