The 2nd Annual Irish Pub Crawl is coming to town on March 17, beginning at 5pm. Downtown Milford Inc. (DMI) will be hosting this year’s event, which will include samplings of beer and wine from Fenwick Wine Cellar, as well as fun dining experiences from local vendors such as Abbott’s Grill and Georgia House.
“Most people don’t think of Milford as a fun, festive type of town, but it really is,” said Sara Pletcher, co-chairman of the DMI Promotion Committee. “The Pub Crawl is a great opportunity to prove that Milford has a lot to offer to its community.”
The festival offers the local community a chance to stroll downtown and view the new revitalization efforts by Downtown Milford Inc. The local vendors will be open that night offering residents unique beer and wine samplings and St. Patrick’s Day entertainment.
“This year’s event, is geared more towards a younger audience,” said Pletcher.
Second Street Players Theatre, located next to the riverfront on Walnut Street, will be featuring a wine and beer sampling from local distributer Fenwick Wine Cellars. Attendees wearing the Irish Pub Crawl t-shirts, will have the opportunity to sample free wine and beer while those without t-shirts will have to pay $2 to sample the selection.
“Last year’s event, brought crowds of people to the area,” said Marilyn Ambrose, Chairwoman of the DMI Promotion Committee. “Most businesses were more crowded than ever and people were able to have a good time.”
The event encourages participants to walk through downtown Milford wearing official Pub Crawl t-shirts. The t-shirts will have the participating vendors names printed on the back of them. Attendees will receive a check mark on the back of the shirt for each vendor they visit. Event t-shirts will become available near the end of February for $15.00 at participating vendors including Abbott’s Grill, Second Street Players, Fur-Baby Boutique, and Georgia House.
“Last years event was a great success, and we’re hoping this year will be even more successful,” Ambrose added.
Downtown Milford Inc. is still looking for more local businesses to help participate in the event. Businesses looking to become sponsors are encouraged to contact Sara Pletcher at email@example.com
