Pub crawl will benefit New Haven parade

The New Haven St. Patrick's Day parade is set to benefit from a fundraising pub crawl.

A fundraising pub crawl on Saturday, February 25 initiated by Anna Liffey’s of New Haven, CT will be hosted by four local Irish pubs in support of the upcoming St. Partick’s Day parade. Anna Liffey’s, Christy’s, O’Toole’s and Kelly’s on Crown have joined forces to benefit the Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Committee by using funds raised on the day to offset growing parade costs. All are welcome to don their best Irish-themed gear and join in for a great day’s craic in support of the nation’s sixth-oldest St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

The “Leprechcon” pub crawl is styled after the very successful “SantaCon” fundraisers, with attendees encouraged to show their green by dressing either in the leprechaun style, in their favorite Irish sweater, or in any other outlandish Irish-themed gear. With the theme being green, Heineken have kindly stepped up to the plate as main sponsors.

The crawl will kick-off at Anna Liffey’s at 3 pm, with participants provided with food and drink specials in each of the four Irish pubs along the crawl route. Registrants will also receive special prizes from key sponsors of the event throughout the day, and best costumes will be judged and rewarded.

“We were looking for a new and fun way to help the parade, and ‘Leprechcon’ just jumped out as us,” Frank Cullimore, Anna Liffey’s manager told Irish Central. “We want to make this an annual event and invite everyone to show their inner Irish as we help this great cause by having fun.”
