De Vere’s Irish Pub, filling the old Soga’s spot at 217 E St., planned a soft opening as early as this weekend, with “pre-opening” parties all week long.
The restaurant’s transformation is impressive, with rich woodwork, antiques and stained glass. The deVere White family imported main bar from Ireland, and feature family photos throughout. Guinness is served in the traditional 20-ounce pint glasses.
Patrons are encouraged to sign up for “Trial lunches,” offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. Also scheduled are a Pre-opening Facebook party from 6 to 11 p.m. on Tuesday, a “Sippin’ Sudz” event with Sudwerk beers from 6 to midnight on Wednesday, and a Twitter party from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
Its official grand opening is Monday, Nov. 14. Hours are expected to be the same as the Sacramento pub: 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
