Tinker’s Nest will soon reopen to the public as a new and improved traditional Irish Pub.
According to Mike Ferreira, owner of Gillary’s Tavern in Bristol and the new co-owner of Tinker’s Nest in Warren, he and his partner John Moss have put a lot of work and thought into revamping the old pub and plan to reopen it within the next month.
“When we bought it we decided to completely renovate the interior of the building,” Ferreira said. “We’re doing all new floors, new walls and we’re restaining the wooden bench seating.”
Ferreira said he and Moss decided to purchase the place when he was approached with a good deal in a poor economy. He says the plan is not to completely change Tinker’s, but to get the pub back into working order and to restore it to its former glory.
“Back in the 90s and early 2000s, Tinker’s was a lot different than it has been,” Ferreira said. “We want to keep the old Irish feel to it and get it back to how it was back then.”
Ferreira said that he plans to keep the name and keep Tinker’s famous chicken wings, but he will be adding more of a full menu, including traditional Irish food such as corned beef. Ferreira said he expects to reopen the pub in about three weeks.
