Mulligan’s East Shore Pub opened last week in the former Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse and one-time J.T. Croc ‘n Berrys at 3523 Union Deposit Road in Susquehanna Twp.
In case you can’t guess, the theme is Irish sports pub.
Ron Kamionka is at the helm. He owns about 17 night clubs and restaurants, including the Hardware Bar, Bourbon Street Salon, Tom Sawyer Entertainment Complex and Mulligan’s Downtown, all in Harrisburg.
Kamionka said Mulligan’s will appeal to the 5-10 p.m. crowd, one of the fastest-growing time slots for people to go out.
“The good news is people are still coming out to downtown, but I think that as we’re coming out into the suburbs some people are realizing that downtown isn’t the only thing. I think things were always going on in the suburbs,” he said in an interview in June.
The 250-seat Mulligan’s boasts about 30 televisions including two projector screens along with pool tables, darts and foose ball table. A deck encompasses a bar, patio furniture, tiki torches, heaters and fire pits for chilly evenings.
Manager Drew Wood anticipates attracting a mixed clientele, including families but primarily a bar-driven crowd.
“It’s going to be a little bit of everyone,” he said.
The menu focuses on easy-to-eat foods such as burgers, strombolis and wings as well as fry baskets, sandwiches, salads and appetizers like fried pickles, crab pretzels and fried Oreos.
It also includes heavier fare like a Guinness beef stew, quesadillas (chicken or steak, cheesy crab or bacon cheeseburger) and strombolis (BBQ chicken, veggie, meat lovers and supreme.)
“It’s food you know, it’s food that’s easy to keep consistent. It’s easily understandable,” Wood said.
It’s open 4 p.m.-2 a.m. Monday-Friday and 11:30 a.m.-2 a.m. Saturday-Sunday. Phone is 717-333-4324.
