Bars and taverns and pubs have always been popular gathering places. Today, however, people are showing up for a host of other activities–to share drinks and food, conversation and games, music and dancing.
Willie McBride’s Irish Pub & Restaurant opened in April of this year at 1270 Easton Turnpike in Branchburg. This is a big place with two floors of action.
“There are two bars here and over 30 beers on tap,” said Andrew DiPietro, one of the managers. “Right now, during football season, you can follow every game on the 50 flat screen television sets.”
When football season ends, there will be live Irish music. Keep warm at one of the four fireplaces, or reserve the banquet room for your event–it will accommodate up to 90 people.
Right now, Willie McBride’s rocks every Friday and Saturday. Tomorrow evening (Sept. 23) it’s Nine Deez Nite and on Saturday (Sept. 24) The Replicants will be providing the music. All this is on the upper level. On the lower level, a live DJ provides the music both nights–as well as other times. There is dancing upstairs and downstairs.
The menu is extensive here, varying from burgers, pizzas, fish and chips, to full entrees with bottles of wine to select from. There is a late night menu as well. Take a look at the selections on the web site or call 908 722-1113.
