Now in its third year, the Arthur’s Day celebrations have proven popular. The date will be marked by a series of high-profile events and celebrations across Ireland and in 40 countries around the world including Italy, Germany, Spain, Malaysia and Australia to honour the remarkable life and legacy of Arthur Guinness – the philanthropist and founder of Guinness.

The day has also developed a charity element. Guinness fans with smartphones are invited to ‘Check In’ via Facebook whilst in the pub on Arthur’s Day. For every ‘Check In’ to a pub using Facebook places, Guinness will donate €5 to the Arthur Guinness Fund up to a maximum of €500,000.

Orla Flanagan, Brand Manager, Guinness commented: “There is huge excitement building for the Arthur’s Day celebrations and we are really delighted to announce the new wave of amazing artists who will perform on the day. We’re also revealing which pubs all of our house bands will play in this year and with just over a week to go there’s a lot of buzz about which surprise act they will share the stage with in these pubs!”

Tickets are priced at just €15 for studio venues and €7.50 for the pub venues plus booking fee with all ticket proceeds directly benefiting the Arthur Guinness Fund.
