This highly anticipated announcement completes the line-up of renowned music stars confirmed to take part in the unique global music celebrations. Countries from Ireland to Singapore are in the process of preparing celebrations to honour the remarkable life and legacy of Arthur Guinness – the legendary philanthropist and founder of GUINNESS®.
Performing at a host of different venues around Ireland, a number of established artists including Ed Sheeran, Aloe Blacc, Stereophonics and Scissor Sisters, will be showcasing the best in live music, indicating that the third annual Arthur’s Day™ celebrations are shaping up to be the best yet.
Leading the way for Australia is award winning blues artist Ash Grunwuld, acting as the ambassador for the eight week nationwide talent search ‘Road to Arthur’s Day’. Designed to find the best live music talent Australia has to offer, the winners will be given the chance to perform live in Dublin, at the world renowned GUINNESS® Storehouse.
Europe will also be instrumental in the celebrations with top band Ministri raising a glass to Arthur Guinness in Italy. While Spanish pop rock band Pereza are playing their part in the ‘Road to Arthur’s Day’ talent search. Winners of the global ‘Road to Arthur’s Day’ competitions will have the opportunity to support Pereza at the GUINNESS® Storehouse, in front of a truly international audience from Spain, Italy, Germany and Australia.
In Indonesia, chart toppers The Script are due to headline the festivities. While in Singapore, celebrations will be led by a talent search supported by their local ambassador.
For Arthur’s Day™ celebrations in the Caribbean, Mr. Vegas, I-Octane and Assassin will be headlining the events in Jamaica, where the concert will be exclusively streamed out to islands including Barbados and St Lucia.

The Arthur’s Day™ festivities benefit the Arthur Guinness Fund™ (AGF). The aim of the fund is to identify and support social entrepreneurs globally with the skills and support required to deliver a measureable, transformational change to communities around the world.
The Arthurs Day™ festivities will commence with a worldwide ‘toast to Arthur’ in Ireland at exactly 17:59 on Thursday 22nd September; honouring the date Arthur Guinness signed the lease on the St. James Gate Brewery (in 1759) and introduced GUINNESS® to the world. The toast will kick start a jam-packed night of live music performances taking place all across the world, starting in Dublin, Ireland
The Arthur’s Day™ celebration was set up in 2009 to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the signing of the original lease at St. James’s Gate.
